Whata Deal Travel Tips

#1 Ladies, when going on vacation pack all those clothing items you wouldn’t be caught dead in around town, wear um once then trash um. Gives you more room for bling and things. Plus a reason to go shopping when you get home. :)

#2 When traveling to Eastern States and renting a car, make sure to have plenty of change. Most of the highways are toll roads and a lot of booths DO NOT make change.

#3 next time you are taking a long flight and your craving a libation or 3, but you don’t want to shell out big bucks to get um. Pick up a few trial size bottles at your local store and fill up with your favorite beverage. Your wallet and brain will thank you .

#4 Not sure where to eat in a foreign land? Look for long lines at restaurants and street carts. There is a reason for it. Also look for groups of seniors eating, most often the food is good and the price is better.

$5 Another one for the Ladies. Take cotton balls and stuff them into a small plastic container. Then lightly pour baby oil over them and you now have makeup remover under eye moisturizer and skin smoother ! Cool Huh  :)

#6 Ok this one is just for fun. Take a coin, silver dollar works best, put a dab of super glue on it and stick it to a concrete surface. Sit a little way off and watch as the fun begins. Need I say more? This works great along busy walkways anywhere. Outside the US use local currency :)

#7 When taking photos, with your digital camera,  bring along an extra memory card. Lose one and you still have a backup. This happened to me 1 too many times.

#8 This is for all you Roman Holiday fans. Save your Euros and take the Metro from the airport in Rome all around the Eternal City. It is cheap, safe, efficient and a great way to see how Real Romans get around. I like it A LOT !

#9 Always, Always, make 3 copies of your travel documents. Leave a set at home, where someone can locate them (just in case),and put the other 2 in separate travel bags. I always carry a set in my carry on.

#10 Use a travel agent (hopefully Whata Deal Travel) if you want to get the best value for your vacation dollars. If I can’t get you the best price I will Tell you who Can. No BS. Got questions?

#11 Considering a cruise? Consider getting a Passport it will make the bording process much easier, they are good for 10 years and it will make you feel important. Also it is required if you are departing from one port and returning to another.

#12 Save money on your air travel by consider using alternative airports, for instance, SLC to Cheyenne, WY. $ 303.00 R/T , but SLC to Denver, CO. $ 127.00 save $177.00 per person ! Denver is less than 1.5 hrs. away from Cheyenne add the cost of a rental car and you still come out $150.00 dollars ahead even if you don’t rent a car in Cheyenne!

#13 Know before you go. Start checking local weather to your Vacation Destination a week in advance. Don’t want to get caught with your pants down …..so to speak

#14 On longer or overnight flights bring a pair of extra warm socks to wear. Warm feet, hands and head make Nappy time Happy time. Try it next time you’ll see. :)

#15 Goin outside the country for a little R&R ? Make sure you let your Credit Card companies know where you are going. This can save lots of embarrassment, time and trips to the local PD.

#16 Going somewhere humid? Take silica gel packs with you and put them with your camera, memory cards and any electronic device. Keeps the moisture from building up inside your equipment. You find them in shoe boxes, med bottles, in just about everything. Never have a foggy photo again.

#17 Do you like to know before you go? Then check out Glyde.com for BIG time discounts on travel guide books. Save up to 90% on used editions and tell me what you think.

#18 Hey guys, when traveling to any tourist destination, put your wallet in your front pocket or in a Velcro hip pocket and for extra protection place a rubber band around it. Never know, that hand diggin in may not be hers.  :)

#19 One of the little know advantages of staying at a Disney resort hotel is free package delivery . If you have ever lugged around the park with all those souvenirs, you will love being able to just have them delivered to your hotel by 8 am the next morning. I love it and so will you.

#20 Bring solid stick antiperspirant deodorant to use while traveling. Besides the obvious, this stuff works great when you get a bug bite, too. Just wipe it across the bite and the itch will go away. It REALLY WORKS !!

#21 Goin somewhere flat with a lot of Trees, like Florida? Pack a tiny compass with ya. So easy to get turned around when there are no landmarks to see. This works great and can save a lot of time. You don’t have to learn the hard way ….like me.

#22 Getting the UPGRADE on flights. First dress for success. Then go to the counter and ask “ what’s the load today”(this is airline lingo for is the plane full?)after their response let them know, in a relaxed way, that you would be open to an upgrade if one exists. If they ask to see your ticket. Guess what…. You will most likely be MOVIN ON UP !

#23 Those cute little vomit bags on your next flight can be used for all kinds of things, Like a baby bottle warmer. Put a little hot water in it , add the baby bottle and in no time a quite baby again. Great for wet bathing suits too. I remember the time my brother actually used it for it’s intended purpose, he was a little slow to get it opened and…….  :)

#24 Wanna get great service from your housekeeping staff? Find out who they are and tip them right away or leave them a nice note on your first morning. My wife makes little head bands or hair scrunches and leaves it for them too. I call them by name. WE ALWAYS get great service and extras. Try it next time you’ll see.
